Selecting the right model of care is a crucial step in your pregnancy journey. Whether you are pregnant or trying to conceive, Katie is here to guide you through the various care options available. She will empower you with information, ensuring you feel confident in your decisions. From public hospital care to private midwifery, Katie will tailor support to your needs.
Public Hospital Care
Care in the Public Hospital is primarily led by midwives, unless deemed high-risk. Patients will interact with various care providers in the clinic, birthing suite, and postnatal ward Standard care typically offers limited continuity, unless the hospital features a Midwifery Group Practice. Cost Free
Private Obstetric Care
Private Obstetric Care is you have a private Obstetrician who you see in their consulting rooms and have limited contact with your chosen hospital. You can choose to birth in either a private or public hospital. While postnatal care is somewhat limited, you can access your Obstetricain up until your 6 week postnatal check. Cost $$$$ (depends of variety of factors including Private Health Insurance, Obstetrician & Hospital fees)
Private Midwifery Care
Continuity of care with a known midwife throughout your entire journey - pregnancy, birth, & postpartum - providing personalised, evidence-based support tailored to your needs & preferences. Katie offers antenatal/postnatal support, birth support in hospital or homebirth. Cost $$ Medicare rebates apply to all Antental & Postnatal appointments.
